England has retained only six players from their World Cup squad for the West Indies tour.

Only six players from their World Cup squad have been retained by England for the white-ball series against the West Indies, including captain Jos Buttler. The selectors of England have announced a new squad for three ODIs and five T20Is to be played from 3rd to 21st December. Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Chris Jordan, and Brydon Carse are the other five players in the squad.

Josh Tongue, Ollie Pope, and Jon Turner, all of whom are uncapped in ODIs, have been included in the setup for the 50-over format for the Caribbean tour, while Test opener Jack Crawley and Ben Duckett are also part of the 15-member squad.

Moeen Ali, who was left out of the 50-over team for the West Indies series, has been included in the T20 squad. Reece Topley, Chris Woakes, and Adil Rashid, who are part of the World Cup squad, did not make the cut for the West Indies ODIs but will feature in the T20I leg of the series.

Joe Root, David Malan, Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow, David Willey (retired), and Mark Wood are among the players excluded from the World Cup squad.

Buttler, Livingstone, Curran, Atkinson, and Brook are the five players from England’s World Cup squad who are part of both teams for the West Indies tour. The selectors have opted to include young leg-spinner Rehan Ahmad alongside Tongue and Turner, providing options in both formats.
