The preparation is underway to move the Nagpur, Hyderabad T20I against Australia to Raipur, Bengaluru.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering alternative options regarding the assembly elections and counting of votes in various states. An announcement is expected soon. It is understood that Cricket Australia (CA) has been informed about the possible change in the schedule.

The final two T20 Internationals between India and Australia are likely to clash, and they may be shifted from Nagpur and Hyderabad. Raipur and Bengaluru are likely to be the new venues. India were to play a five-match series in the World Cup. Matches from 23 November to 3 December, immediately following the final.

Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) has started work on its stadium in Jamtha, Nagpur, which may be unavailable to host the games. Earlier, the BCCI wanted to host a Senior T20 Women’s tournament at this venue but had to move due to the unavailability of floodlights at the ground.

Although BCCI has not formally informed VCA, it has been revealed that the match will be shifted to Raipur. Chhattisgarh Cricket Association (CCA) officials have confirmed that they have been dropped by the BCCI.

Chhattisgarh state is scheduled to go to the polls in November (on the 7th and 17th), with the counting of votes taking place on December 3, coincidentally the same day when the fifth and final T20 match was to be played in Hyderabad. However, an elected official of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has confirmed that the Telangana state government may not be able to provide security for the match on that day. It has been learned that this match will be held in Bengaluru. Cuttack was also in contention, but Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) may be the preferred choice.

As per the schedule, Australia will start the series against the hosts in Ahmedabad on November 19 and then in Vizag on November 23 (Thursday), three days after the 2023 ODI World Cup final. The other two matches are to be played in Thiruvananthapuram (26 November) and Guwahati (28 November).
